Local Water Levels Statement
April 17, 2026
I am writing to share an update on current water levels and the flood status issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources.
I know many families across our region are watching water levels closely and may be feeling concerned.
I want to convey assurance to the residents of our community that my office and I are actively monitoring the situation and connecting with key stakeholders to ensure timely information is being shared to and from our office.
To date, our office has connected with Ontario Power Generation and the local Ministry of Natural Resources Pembroke office to maintain open lines of communication. We are also participating in local freshet calls to monitor the situation closely.
I have begun personally calling mayors, and our office is connecting with municipal leaders to ensure we have the correct contact information to refer residents to the appropriate channels should constituents reach out to us.
Please be assured that I will continue to stay up to date and actively monitor this situation as it unfolds.
We encourage residents to monitor updates through official channels and to take appropriate precautions, especially those living along the watershed.
